Back from vacation

So I am back from my trip. I had an okay time. Let me explain. For the first 3 days of our trip, we stopped in Cambridge, Ontario to visit my Aunt and Uncle. It was great fun. We did so many things. We went to this AMAZING farmer’s market. It makes me want to move there just so I could go to the market every week LOL. We have a farmer’s market here in Calgary, but it really SUCKS compared to this fabulous one!! I was in heaven for a couple hours. My Uncle bought a crap load of roma tomatoes at the market and we took them home and put them in the dehydrator to make sundried tomatoes. Just so everyone knows, I hate tomatoes. They are one of the few things that I cannot stand. But I tried these homemade sundried ones and I loved them! I even went and bought some today and am making my very own as we speak! They are such a tasty and healthy snack 🙂 Better than eating candy for sure.

I also got to go to Niagara Falls, which is one place that every Canadian needs to see sometime in their life! It was so cool. Very busy though. We had to park so far away and then walk down to the falls. It was very humid too. In Calgary, we have such dry weather…so it was a blast of heat/wetness when I walked out of the car! But I did see the American falls and the Canadian falls. Here is a picture of my Mom and I sitting in front of the Canadian falls.

Then from Cambridge, we went on to Halifax. The first few days were fine. We spent them touring around and seeing the sights. Then we decided to go whale watching. There I found out that I get sea sick. It was the longest hour and a half of my life!!! After that I didn’t feel 100% but it was better to be on land. Then at supper that night, I just got this horrible feeling in my stomach like I was going to be sick. It took me at least an hour before I felt okay so I could actually walk back to our hotel room. The nausea kept coming and going for the next few days. And all I wanted was to just come home, but there were still 4 more days of our trip. By day 4 of feeling horrible, I started to feel a bit better. It must have just been some kind of bug that I caught…but the only symptom was nausea. Then when we were on our way home, we had a 2 hour flight, a 2 hour layover and then a 4 hour flight. Well, during the layover, the nausea hit me again. I felt SOOO horrible and I still had a 4 hour flight in front of me. It was such a terrible trip home. It makes me not want to fly ever again :dead:

We came home on Sunday because we had tickets for The Lion King. But I didn’t get to go because I was so sick 😥 I had been looking forward to seeing the show for over a year. It is in Calgary for the whole month of August, but of course, it is sold out and so there is no way I get to see it. My mom ended up going with one of her friends instead and she said that it was absolutely amazing. I am so upset. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Anyway, I finally started eating normally again yesterday. My diet for the past week had been gingerale, crackers and peppermints. I lost 7 pounds in the week. It is such an unhealthy way to lose weight. It also made my stomach temporarily smaller so I can’t eat like normal for the time being. Boo.

So all in all, my trip was only okay. Cambridge was way better than Halifax because I was actually feeling well! Sorry about rambling on for so long :blank:
