Sundried Tomatoes

It’s that time of year again where delicious roma tomatoes are in season. Therefore it is time to make some homemade sundried tomatoes 🙂 Have you ever gone to buy them at the store?! They are so expensive and you get such a little pack. Also, half the time they are packed in oil. Ick. xP All you need is a huge box of roma tomatoes (which we bought at the market for $20), a dehydrator and a little bit of seasoning salt (the stuff without msg if possible). Here is how I did mine:

I started with my big box of tomatoes:

I cut the ends and sides off so they sit flat on the dehydrator:

A little seasoning salt sprinkled on goes a long way just before starting:
Just before turning them on

About half way through:

Almost done:

And the final, delicious, yummy finished product:

Yay! Wasn’t that fun?! I definitely recommend everyone taking advantage of the short tomato season and buying a dehydrator. They are super low in fat and 0 Points on the WW system

I’ve never tried sundried tomatoes before, but I love tomatoes in general so maybe I should give them a shot. It’s also a plus that they’re so healthy.
