Goals for 2011

I thought that I would follow in a lot of other blogger’s footsteps and post my goals/resolutions for 2011. These are things that I hope to accomplish sometime during the upcoming year:

Get to my goal weight and get Lifetime Membership at WW: In 2010, I started weight watchers and lost 70.8lbs. All I have left to lose is 2lbs and I will be at my goal. I will then complete 6 weeks of maintenance and I will be awarded my Lifetime Membership with WW.

Run a half-marathon: My uncle is a multi-marathon runner and he has been bugging me to train for a half-marathon. He is convinced that I can do it. As I only started running in 2010, I am still a little nervous about running long distances. The furthest I have ever run in one go is about 10km and a half-marathon is just over 21kms. But I definitely want to start training and maybe I will be able to run, with my uncle, in one of Calgary’s annual half-marathons in July.

Blog more: I hope to blog at least once a week, hopefully more like 2-3 times a week. Everyday, I find myself doing or seeing something and thinking, “I should blog about this,” but I never end up posting. I want to change that this year! I also hope to expand my vocabulary :D

Floss everyday: Everytime I go to the dentist, I get in “trouble” for not flossing. I know I should be doing it everyday, but I never really do. So I hope to change that and floss at least once a day to fight the plaque! :geek:

Make a new recipe every week: I have so many cookbooks and so many bookmarked recipes that I want to try. So I hope to make at least one new recipe a week. Of course, I will try to make more, but one is the minimum.

Try eggplant: A random goal, I know. But I have always wanted to try eggplant. I heard that it is very nutritious and am looking forward to diving into this goal. Does anyone have any recipes to share that use eggplant?

Well, HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone. I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2011.

I’m not very fond of eggplant myself, so I’m afraid I don’t have any recipes to share. Sounds like healthy and fun goals!

I’m not a fan of eggplant but my grandma makes this Italian dish called Eggplant Parmesan that I’m sure you could find a recipe for if you googled for it. Everyone who likes eggplant raves about it at holiday get-togethers. :)

Congrats on your amazing weight goal, by the way!
