Today was a wonderful day. It was partly lazy, partly eventful and all around great. It is so unusual for me to have a Sunday off and I took advantage of it. First of all the reason I had today off was because my manager forgot to put me on the schedule. He apologized profusely and said that he was out of it when he was writing it. He let me work as a hostess yesterday, which is better than nothing. Although I didn’t get to make any tips, I still got my wage. They had enough staff for today, thus, my day off.
Slept in this morning for the first time in months. SO NICE. It was 9:45 when I rolled out of bed!!! I made myself some pancakes and watched a movie. Then I decided it was time to get my butt in gear and do something productive. So I went for a 10KM run in the beautiful sunshine. Afterward, Peter was ready to get out and about and so we spent a good 3 hours working on the lawn. We mowed, whipper snippered, fertilized, tried to get rid of many many dandelions, weeded the garden beds, cleaned up the shed and swept the garage pad. Whew. Then I went inside and cleaned the bathroom. Finally, we were able to take a shower! Very relaxing. We both got some sun which was so nice as we’ve been having way too much rain.
We were starving by the time we were done with the yard and so we walked 2.7KM to Wal-Mart to pick up my yearly pair of sandals. Afterward we stopped at Extreme Pita for supper. So delicious. It hit the spot perfectly. On our way home we stopped for groceries and enjoyed more sun.
We had a lazy evening watching The Chronicles of Narina: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It was okay. I prefer the first one by far!! And I just figured something out…the books/movies are very religious I never clued in on that before. I suppose Aslan is supposed to represent Jesus in a way. To me, being not religious at all, this came as a little bit of a surprise to me. Oh well, I still like the movies, I will just have a different view towards them, which kind of sucks. Oh well.
School is more than halfway done. I have completed 5 full weeks and am left with 4 weeks. I can’t believe how fast it is going by. I am learning so many new things. I have a new love for Flash I just wish Steve Jobs (of Apple & Mac) would love Flash so that it would work on my iPhone. Oh well. I am sure that Flash will be included in many of my designs in the future because I LOVE IT!!!
