Half Marathon Complete

On Sunday my Uncle and I ran a half marathon! The total kilometers that we ran ended up being 21.98KM. I can’t believe that I actually achieved that goal. I made the resolution in the new year to run a half marathon this year. It was not an official event on Sunday or anything, just running. My Uncle is in town from Ontario for the week and so I took advantage of his expertise and went for this run with him. He has been running for over 10 years and has completed many marathons. I don’t think that I would have been able to run that far without him. He gave me some great advice for long runs. One of the most important things I have to remember is to refuel during the run. I never eat anything during a run and so that is probably why I usually get so tired so fast. Oh my gosh. I am so glad that this is something I can say. I ran a half marathon!!! Ah. Feels so good. I am very proud of myself!!

After we went running, we went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (for the 2nd time) in 3D on the IMAX. It was just as amazing as the first time. I LOVED IT. Even better, I didn’t even get nauseous while watching the show. It is the first 3D movie I have seen since The Polar Express back in 2004. Anyway, I am sad that the Harry Potter franchise is over, but it has been amazing 10+ years.

In other news, I am going to be starting a new job on August 22. It is a full time web design position. I am actually getting out into the corporate world and starting my career. I will still be keeping my current job as the Web Design position is only for 10 weeks, to start. If I succeed in the job, they will keep me on permanently. I am super excited and super nervous at the same time. I have worked in the food industry for 10 years and it’s all I’ve ever known. This will be a huge change, but hopefully a good change!!
