Growing Up

My best friend of 17 years got engaged today. I am so happy for her. When I got married 3 years ago, she was maid of honour. She was with the same guy who is now her fiancee. But marriage was the last thing she wanted. She was only half way through her university degree and there were no plans to get serious with her boyfriend. Now she is ecstatic to be engaged. Her and her fiancee are moving into their own place in September and this engagement is just the cherry on the cake. It just makes me think about how much I have grown in the past 6 years since high school. Life really does go on and everything changes. Anyway, I don’t think they have any plans for a wedding, but she will be a full fledged teacher in May and the next step ought to be the wedding! Ha. šŸ˜€ They are already talking about kids in the next couple years. Scary. I have to admit that it does make me feel a little old.

I have been busy at work with a client’s website. It is a vacation rental site. They are hoping to launch the site in the next couple weeks and so I am just trying to get everything perfect. Emails back and fourth are being sent and final details are being tweaked. I will be excited to have an actual client’s website open on the web. It really marks how far I have come in the last few months. I will post the link here as soon as they are ready to launch.

Did you know that some of the stores around here have their Halloween stuff out already?! šŸ˜® I even saw some Christmas decorations today. It upsets me because the magic is gone by the time the holiday actually gets here. Ugh.

Yeah I feel really old too. Most of the girls I graduated with have more than two kids now (one girl I graduated HS with has five!) and I have none, nor am I ready for a child. I’m all about hanging out with my husband and having fun. Growing up is for suckers. šŸ˜›

Most of our friends are getting married, and half of them are trying to have babies :O I think I’ll hang on a while longer so they can finish before I start thinking about a wedding and family of my own  I don’t like that holiday products and decorations and stuff are in stores so early, it ruins the feeling šŸ™

yeah, I saw Halloween decorations a couple weeks ago and thought… really? Guess I should start planning my costume. Or maybe start planning my vacation that comes prior to halloween…

Two of my best friends are getting married next year. I’m happy I won’t be the only one finally. Friends of friends have babies, but none of my friends yet. I refuse to be the first there, lol.

Congratulations to your friend! It’s amazing how much life changes after high school, how a person changes.

It has been so long since I’ve been to your site. I’ve been thinking about opening my own domain again, but to be honesty web design has lost it’s appeal  I settled on livejournal instead. I am glad to see you’re doing well, and congratulations on your wedding as well.

I haven’t seen any Christmas decorations yet, but I’ve seen a ton of Halloween stuff. The Christmas season doesn’t start for me until at least November… though I have been tempted to break out my Straight No Chaser CDs.

    Take care.
