Holidays

The Santa Shuffle run that I did on Saturday went very well. I enjoyed it. I ran 5.11KM in 27:44 minutes. I am extremely pleased with my time and how I did on the run. I have to admit that I am SO not ready for the 30KM I am supposed to be running in March. I better buckle down and get training. Ugh. I don’t want to. xP

Even with all my hesitations, I baked 1 of the 5 recipes I was going to make. I made Toffee and it is delicious. But NOT healthy at all. I really need to get it out of my house asap so I don’t eat any more. Isn’t the point of holiday baking to give it away anyway?! Anyway, I posted the recipe for the Toffee, just in case anyone was interested in making it homemade.

CommunityI have added another TV Show to the endless list of shows that I watch. I just finished watching all previously aired episodes of Community. What a brilliant show!! I found myself laughing so hard! They poke fun at so many things, but they also do it in a very tasteful manner. It is hilarious. There is something in the show for everyone. It makes me want to go back to university and find a study group just like Community. I recommend this show for a cute laugh once a week. It airs on Thursdays on NBC and is currently in season 3!! Plus, Chevy Chase is in it and I haven’t seen him in anything for years. SO GOOD. Go watch it!!

I am about 65% done shopping for Christmas. I know what I will be purchasing for the rest, but I just haven’t gone out to get them yet. It’s nice to know that I am somewhat organized and I am not going to go out and mindlessly wander around looking for gifts. I have a purpose and it will be that much simpler. We are trying to keep our gift spending costs lower this year as we are going to Mexico in February and all of our pennies are currently going toward that trip! So hopefully I will finish shopping in the next week. Peter will be doing all the wrapping because the gifts look like something out of a catalogue when he does it! He’s just so perfect LOL. JK.

Eggnog Milkshake Speaking of Christmas, I have to say I am very disappointed in Mcdonalds this year. Last year they had a delicious Eggnog milkshake on special for December. As I am an eggnog fiend, I LOVED it so much. I totally expected them to have it again this year. I have been looking forward to it for months and months. I even called a couple times to inquire about it. Nobody gave me any definite answers on it. Then my co-worker said she asked at her local Mcdonalds and they said it would be arriving December 6!!! I was ecstatic  I made sure I ate very healthy for the week prior to our trip to Mcdonalds. Just by chance, I called the morning of the 6th to make sure everything was going to plan. My dreams were shattered :( They did not have the eggnog milkshake, nor did they have any information on if/when they were getting it. I am so sad. As it is December 9th, I highly doubt they will be getting it just for a couple weeks. So Mcdonalds has disappointed me. I should take it as a sign to stop going to that horrid place. But I can’t, because I LOVE their food. Don’t ask me why, I just do. As I am typing, I am drinking an eggnog milkshake from Mcdonalds!!! They finally started selling them this year! Maybe I was a tad impatient, but now, my life is complete.

I love baking to. I kept myself some of the fudge and will keep some of the cookies, but the plan is to get rid of most it like you read my blog.

Don’t watch Community. My latest addiction is ABC’s Once Upon A Time, I was hooked once I saw the first episode. It’s just awesome how they incorporate fairy tale stories with today’s world. If you haven’t seen it give it a shot, I think you would enjoy.

I’m almost done shopping to! Feels good, I’ve never been done this early. Just two more gifts to purchase and I’m done. Excited and feel good since I won’t have to worry about it last minute like I did last year.

McDonald’s has let me down as well, not because of the milkshake but the food quality all together. Their food isn’t worth the price anymore. The Big Mac is more like a Lil’ Mac. Their oatmeal is just instant oatmeal with stuff added. Such a shame too, I use to love it. I do get their McNuggets once in awhile, but I was very sad that they got rid of the honey dipping sauce.

Yes! I watch Once Upon a Time too. It’s amazing. I love the fairytale aspects as well. I think it’s made by the same people who created LOST. I sure hope the story doesn’t get dragged on as long and it goes somewhere :)

Yes, it is from the creators of LOST. I never watched the show, but I guess there have been hidden LOST “easter eggs” in some of the episodes. I think Wikipedia has them.

Ugh, I want to make toffee so bad now! I love that stuff. :D I don’t really like McDonalds but I needed to eat today and remembered that I used to like McChickens which are relatively bland (I have been sick so I didn’t want to risk beef), and it was actually delicious. I always want to try the Creme Egg McFlurry at Easter, but I never do!

Congrats on your awesome finish time at the Santa Shuffle! I never knew McDonald’s had an eggnog shake and it sounds yummy! Sorry they won’t be carrying it this year. I look forward to their shamrock shake and pumpkin spice shake each March and October.

Oh my gosh! I’ve never had their pumpkin pie shake! Sounds SO good. I am addicted to Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice so I am sure I would love the mcdonalds milkshake version.

Dude, I can’t even run halfway around the block! Awesome job! :D

    On a related note, I don’t give a crap what anyone says, I’m with you – I love McDonald’s!

I’m with you, McD’s is love :P Some things I flat out refuse to eat (the McRib, blaaaahh!!) but nothing makes me happier than a burger from Mickey D and some French fries XD
