Blast From The Past
Posted on Friday June 8, 2012
I know I am a little slow, but I have figured out how to add previous posts onto the blog without having them show up in my RSS feed. I’d like them to be on the website (to have a record of my blogging history), but I don’t want people to be bombarded with posts I wrote in 2008 in their feed. So I am going to start slowly adding my old posts.
When I moved from Cutenews to WordPress in 2010, I gave up on the idea of connecting all my blog posts. But I if I had just done a little Google searching I would have been able to do it simply. To tell the truth, I would rather put in all the posts manually, that way I can format them the way I want. It also gives me the chance to read what I wrote years and years ago. A blast from the past
I’ve read some of the old posts and it’s so funny to read the random and useless crap I wrote about. I’m not saying that what I write about now is super important, but the life of a teenage girl is hilarious! There are so many different things that are important to me now. Haha.

updates...
I deleted most of my blog archives because I reread them and was mortified, but now I SO wish I had kept them and moved them to my current site. Having that history is priceless! Thanks to Internet Archives, I’ve found a few entries here and there, but most of my blogging history is gone
What are some of the Internet archive sites you use? The only one I know of is archive.org.
I have posts from way back in 2003 until today, and I’m glad I’ve kept them! I haven’t read them since writing them, and I’m not sure I want to, but they’re there like old journals to document my life, hah
Oh I wish I from mine from 2003. Mine are only from 2004 and up. If I still had by-my-side, I would have posts from back in 2001!!!
Soooooooooooooo what was the solution?
I post-dated the posts, published them privately THEN I published publicly. Seemed to do the trick. Exactly what I wanted at least
That’s good to know. Because of the splash page plugin I’m using, it has been allowing me to post older blog entries without them blowing up my feed. My concern is once I relaunch my site feedburner will be like HEY THERE ARE NEW POSTS. So its good to know you have a method that works.
I love going through all of my old blog posts and reading the random crap I used to write about. Sometimes it scares me how much I’ve changed… as well as how awful my grammar used to be. I still use cutenews, and I refuse to ever switch… muahaha, but I’m glad you were able to make the switch and keep your posts. I wonder if the solution existed back then when you neglected to search? Anyway, great looking site you’ve got here!
I always manually save them all on my hard drive to reread them instead of posting them on my new websites. Same blast from the past, without having to embarrass myself with my old thoughts and opinions.
Unrelated, I love your June 9th photo of the day. Cutie.
I love reading my old posts and seeing how far I’ve come, lol. “the life of a teenage girl is hilarious! ” so true!
