New Kitten

I wish that I was reporting that Peter finally gave in and let me get a kitten, but alas, this news is not so. However, it’s still very exciting. My brother got a new kitten!! He is an adorable long haired black and white ball of fur. Even before I met him I knew I would love him. He’s so playful and gentle. He is also super cuddly. He gets a little scared when he is carried around as I think the height is frightening because he’s so tiny. I am not too sure how old he is, but based on his size, he is very young. My brother has gotten him to eat and use the litter box, but getting water into the little guy is sort of tough. He keeps looking for a nipple. Aw well, my brother is managing tiny bits at a time.

My brother’s two older cats (14 & 16) do not like this new addition to the household. Every time they see the little guy or go near him, they hiss and growl. They haven’t physically hit him, but they sure do not want him there. The kitten doesn’t give a damn and just continues playing. I sure hope the older cats get used to the kitten and maybe they will be friends.

My brother has not picked a name for him yet. I want him to call the little ball of fur Sam or Oreo. Do you have any ideas of a name for this cute tiny kitten??

In other cat news, I have turned into the person my friends go to if they need a cat sitter. I am definitely NOT complaining. In fact, I am ecstatic! They all know that I want a cat more than anything, so they’re happy to oblige My co-worker is going camping for a week and I get to take care of her cat. She is a long haired beauty, but she gets a kitty shave for the summer. So looking forward to this cat sitting. Peter is not a happy camper. He basically said I couldn’t kitty sit again. Ah well, I have already agreed and it’s only a week, right?!
