Puzzled

Sometimes it’s so nice to step away from technology and just have some good old fashioned fun. My cousins were in town and we were trying to waste some time before their flights. They were staying at my Grandmother’s house and as she’s on the lower end of the technology scale, we decided to put a puzzle together. It was a 500 piece puzzle. It took the 4 of us just over an hour to complete the puzzle. It was really neat to work together and put all the pieces together. While we were working at it, I thought how nice it was to be just using our minds and not any kind of technology.

My Grandma, Cousin and I with a completed puzzle

As a kid I never liked doing puzzles. I don’t think I was very good at them and so honestly, I didn’t want to do the puzzle with my family. However once we got started, I really started to enjoy myself. Perhaps it was because there were so many heads working together. It could also have been because the puzzle was a map of Canada. Ha. Ever since then I have wanted to do another puzzle. I don’t own any and so I’ll have to go out and find one that sparks my interest. I’ll probably start with a 100 piece puzzle and then work my way up. The thought of a 1000 piece puzzle scares the hell out of me.

What do you like to do in your spare time that doesn’t involve technology?

I used to love doing puzzles as a kid and haven’t done any for ages! Might have to pick one up one of these days at Walmart. I see them at yard sales all the time but they make me nervous when they’re second hand. I’d hate to put the thing together and find out at the end the set is missing a piece. D:
