Peter and I stayed at a Super 8 motel at the main gate to Disney World. We took a half hour bus ride each day to get to the transportation centre for all 4 disney parks. This was my second time staying at that motel, as that’s where Mom and I stayed in 2010. It was clean, it had a fridge, a bed, free wifi and free breakfast and that’s all we ever needed. We didn’t need a fancy expensive place, just the basics. After all, we didn’t spend much time in the room. So when it came to deciding where to stay this time, I had no hesitations. However, I don’t think I will be staying at that motel again.
We found at least 2 bugs a day in the room. One time I found a bug in my luggage  *shudder* I don’t know what kind of bugs they were. They weren’t little bugs, such as ants, and they weren’t as big as cockroaches either. I don’t care what they were, they creeped me out and should not have been crawling around in my room. They would hide in dark places and then when you moved/touched something around them, they would scurry away. I imagined them crawling into my mouth while I was sleeping. Yuck. I asked the desk manager if they sprayed for bugs and he said they did. He also said there wasn’t much that could be done as it’s winter in Florida and they could have gotten in through the air conditioner or when the door was open. Last time we stayed at the motel it was the beginning of October, so it wasn’t quite the “winter” season in Florida. Yes, it was a little colder this time and I suppose the bugs were looking for somewhere warm to go. Anyway, I will definitely look for a hotel next time instead of a motel. I don’t want the room to be accessible from the outside. I hate bugs.
Well as our vacation comes to an end, I have realized one thing. I have spent the majority of the time eating. Sure we walked around a lot and had a whole bunch of fun, but it was all about the food. Although, I did try to make some healthy choices. We brought our lunches every day so that we didn’t resort to theme park food. It’s really expensive anyway. I also chose a salad sometimes instead of fries. But I did indulge in desserts and we bought some to-die-for white chocolate liquor that we drank each night before bed. We ended up drinking two bottles between the two of us. As we aren’t big drinkers, this is A LOT, but it was so good!
As I return to my normal life, I will have to try to get back into the swing of healthy eating and following the weight watchers program. I want to lose these last few pounds before the new year, and who knows how much I gained while here in Florida. Ugh. I know it sounds silly, but I look in mirror and I can see all the extra pounds I’ve gained here. It’s probably just my mind playing tricks on me, but I can even see it in the photos I’ve taken. Oh well, I can lose the weight I need to if I put my mind to it!
