I think I forgot to post that I have signed up for another running event. This is actually only my second race. I usually just choose to run on my own whenever I want. The hustle and bustle of events are too crazy.
Anyway, I will be running the Santa Shuffle on December 1st with one of my friends. It’s a 5km fun run. We ran it last year and had a wonderful time. I think we’ve decided that it will become a yearly thing. It’s nice to be able to run it with a friend, especially one who has been through the same as me regarding weight loss. We both used to be overweight and never even dreamed that one day we’d call ourselves runners. So we both bought matching event shirts and we’ll make sure to bundle up warm for this winter run.
These days running 5km-7km is a normal every day run for me. Now that is not as good as I used to be. I used to run much further distances. I stopped running for a while and I definitely lost the endurance. It’s kind of sad because I am always so proud when I complete a long distance. I can hardly believe that I ran 22km with my uncle in August of 2011!
Well I am slowly trying to get my running mojo back. I just wish I had decided to get my mojo back in the spring instead of the winter. Snow is not fun to run in! I went for a run today and it was dreadful. It was so icy and there were so many sidewalks that were not shoveled. Running on the road was not much better. It really makes me want to buy a treadmill. Unfortunately, I have no place to put it! Maybe one day
