NOTE: This post may contain spoilers for Twilight: Breaking Dawn: Part 2. Also, for all those Twilight haters out there, please keep your rude opinions to yourself. Thank you.
I went to the movies today after work to see the final movie in the Twilight Saga. Like many other people, I had been looking forward to this movie for over a year. At first, I was disappointed that they movie makers were splitting the book into two movies. I hate how hollywood likes to drag things out just to make more money. However, after seeing part 1, I was happy because I really enjoyed how well they were able to tell the story so fully in the first movie. So going into the theatre today I really hoped they would do the same great story telling.
The movie was okay. I won’t say I didn’t like the movie, I did, but it felt too rushed. There were little things that were missed, but nothing too significant. The events correlated with the book, but I guess I would have loved a little more detail.
There was a biggish plot change at the climax of the movie. Something totally crazy happened that made the whole audience gasp. I was sure it had to be a character’s dream or something, but it just kept going on and on. More crazy things kept happening, and I was starting to believe it really was the way the writers wrote the movie. I was so shocked because it differed from the book so much. It was making me so mad. I really felt like yelling at the screen. Then BAM, they threw another curve ball and dived back into the normal plot. Ugh. The twist made me crazy. It put a horrible spin on the movie. I had a higher opinion of the movie until that last climactic scene. I do not think it was necessary to put that kind of twist in. Even though the twist was rendered, it definitely put a bad taste in my mouth.
Another thing that annoyed me was the fact that the child in the movie was digital for more than half of the freaking movie. I know they wanted to have the reality of a half-vampire/half-human baby, but it was blatantly obvious the kid did not have a real face. So annoying.
Then the credits rolled out and they showed a picture and name of almost every single actor that was in all 5 movies. We stayed and watched hoping that there would be an extra scene afterward. Nope, nothing. What a waste of time!
I hate to say this, but I think this is my least favourite movie of the saga. It definitely did not live up to my expectations.
Oh and on a totally different subject, and to put into perspective how fast time flies, it is one month until Christmas!!! Ahhh
