Family and Running

With certain family issues that have happened in the past week, it turns out that my Uncle is coming into town tomorrow from Cambridge, Ontario. Although I wish it were under better circumstances, I am very happy that he is coming. He will want to spend most his his few days here with my Grandma. However, we have already planned on going for a run on Friday morning. I am super excited. My Uncle is one of the reasons I turned into a runner. After all, I ran my half-marathon with him. I look forward to his visits here, or whenever I visit him in Ontario, so that we can run together. I don’t really have a running partner here in Calgary and so I will jump at the chance to run with someone. It will be quite chilly, snowy and probably still dark, but we will have a blast. It also gives us a chance to chat and catch up. He had sugary on his knee in October so he isn’t quite up to a really long run, but that suits me just fine. I am nowhere near fit enough for a long run these days. Oh well, any kind of exercise will be perfect.

My Mom and I were supposed to be going to Great Falls, MT this weekend for some shopping. Unfortunately, due to other circumstances, we cancelled the trip a couple weeks ago. I guess it’s a good thing now as my Uncle will be in town this weekend. We also had tickets for a musical scheduled for tomorrow night, but were able to rebook it for the 16th of December instead. We still have front row though. Anyway, it just seems that fate works in scary ways sometimes.

Hopefully my Uncle and I will be running more than once this weekend, but if not, I will try to enjoy my time with my family!

What a great way to catch up by running together! Maybe it will feel good to clear your heads a bit as well 🙂

I hope you have a great visit with your uncle! And if you want to go running, give me a shout 🙂 I might slow you down though!
