Do you hear the people sing?

Les Misérables CalgaryOn Sunday night, my Mom and I were lucky enough to see the broadway production of Les Misérables! Last week there was a slight chance that the show would not be opening here in Calgary because of the horrific flooding our poor city suffered. After much consideration, the show held true to it’s 16 show engagement and have been giving the people of Calgary a few hours to get away from their real lives.

As per our usual season tickets, were watched the show from front row centre. We could see the spit flying out of the actor’s mouths. It was amazing. The show was breath taking. During the final scenes I could feel my heart beating so fast. I was 100% engrossed by the show. After the show I couldn’t even come up with the words to describe how I felt about it. Awestruck was a good one. I was speechless. It was one of the best shows I have seen. Sure, I say that about every production I see, but they just keep getting better and better.

I am a fairly new fan of Les Miz and probably like many others, it’s because of the movie that came out last year. I have never been given the chance to see the show before so the new movie was the only way I was able to learn the story and music. Now of course I am hooked and I would jump at any chance to see the show again and again.

My Mom and I both bought matching t-shirts! They are pretty awesome if I do say so myself!!

Les Misérables Calgary

The show is on a 30+ year running streak, so assuming it is still playing when and if ever I visit New York, I would definitely pay to see it on Broadway!

I STILL haven’t seen Les Miserables -stage show or the movie – I’m kind of jealous of you right now lol!
I love theatre and would absolutely love to see Les Miz on stage!

That sounds like a fantastic experience! So far, I haven’t managed to see any sort of performance of Les Mis, so I am quite envious of you! (I’m also slightly envious of the fact that you are experiencing the sort of weather that allows you to wear a t-shirt and shorts.)

Glad you enjoyed it Carolynne.. Thiswas my fifth time seeing it onstage & saw the movie twice. This was by far the best stage production. The set decoration was fantastic. I find the story & music so moving. I cried so much my eyes were swollen & throat was sore afterwards. Seats front row centre! I’m super jealous. We’re in row T.

Ohh that’s awesome that you were able to see it! We’ve all been feeling so badly about the flooding in Calgary. =( I was actually in Edmonton about a week before the flooding began… But now I’m home in Ottawa. I haven’t even seen the Les Miz movie yet! I feel so ridiculous. >> LOL I need to download it or something! But cute t-shirt!!!
