On Sunday night, my Mom and I were lucky enough to see the broadway production of Les Misérables! Last week there was a slight chance that the show would not be opening here in Calgary because of the horrific flooding our poor city suffered. After much consideration, the show held true to it’s 16 show engagement and have been giving the people of Calgary a few hours to get away from their real lives.
As per our usual season tickets, were watched the show from front row centre. We could see the spit flying out of the actor’s mouths. It was amazing. The show was breath taking. During the final scenes I could feel my heart beating so fast. I was 100% engrossed by the show. After the show I couldn’t even come up with the words to describe how I felt about it. Awestruck was a good one. I was speechless. It was one of the best shows I have seen. Sure, I say that about every production I see, but they just keep getting better and better.
I am a fairly new fan of Les Miz and probably like many others, it’s because of the movie that came out last year. I have never been given the chance to see the show before so the new movie was the only way I was able to learn the story and music. Now of course I am hooked and I would jump at any chance to see the show again and again.
My Mom and I both bought matching t-shirts! They are pretty awesome if I do say so myself!!
The show is on a 30+ year running streak, so assuming it is still playing when and if ever I visit New York, I would definitely pay to see it on Broadway!
