Peter and I went to Edmonton’s Comic Expo on Saturday. That’s right, two expos in one year! We are some happy nerds. This was Edmonton’s second annual expo and so we just had to go and support them. It benefits everyone, after all. They get to make more money and we get to go to two expos a year. Bonus!
As it was quite a small expo, there weren’t as many famous guests as Calgary had. Christopher Lloyd (most famous as Doc Emmett Brown from Back to the Future) and the Delorean were there. As well as Karl Urban, who plays Bones on the new Star Trek movies. Peter was tempted to get the autograph of Joe Flanigan (John Shepard from Stargate Atlantis), but just as always, was too cheap to pay. Peter says $10 would be reasonable, but he can’t justify paying $30+. I don’t blame him. At future comic expos, I might consider buying an autograph from Connor Trinneer (Trip from Enterprise), Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson from Stargate SG-1) or Richard Dean Anderson (Jack O’Neil from Stargate SG-1). Again, it would depend on how much they cost. Hahaha.
We didn’t stay too long, if truth be told. There was a HUGE line to get into the expo, so we spent most of that time looking around at all the unique costumes. People are SO creative when it comes down to it. My favourite costumes were a star trek officer and a storm trooper that were zombiefied. Very cool, unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to get a picture. After we finally got into the expo, we walked through the venders, stared at the celebrities a bit and then were on our way. Peter didn’t buy anything, but I bought 2 pairs earrings, although I wanted to buy about 100. There were so many to choose from, but I couldn’t afford them all. This vendor has been at every expo I’ve been to and I’ve bought earrings each time. So, maybe next expo I will buy a couple more pairs and improve my collection.
I met Merlin and Arthur:
I also met the Captain:
Hahaha, it might be the closest I will ever come to meeting those characters! So fun.
As we were leaving we saw a row of real (non time travelling) Deloreans. It was so cool to see them all lined up together.
