NaBloPoMo 2013: Day 2 – One day, four seasons

By the end of the today, it will have felt like Peter and I have experienced all 4 weather seasons in one day. I suppose traveling can do that do you ever once in awhile.

This morning it was beautiful and sunny while we fetched our breakfast. Summer was upon us. As we are headed back to Calgary today, I made sure to soak up every last UV ray I could.

We went back to our hotel to finish packing our suitcases and decided to go to Earl of Sandwich again for lunch. Queue the Spring as it had started to pour. Everything was drenched, but it wasn’t a cold rain. We were so glad that the rain held off until we had finished our vacation. We were very fortunate for weather this trip!!

By the time we finished lunch and drove all the way to the airport, the rain had stopped. The sun hadn’t quite peeked its head out, so it was cool from the rain. A touch of Fall was around us.

Now, as I write this, we are waiting to hop on a plane to go home where we will experience our final season, dreaded Winter. I received an email from my MIL this morning informing me that the snow had already started. Calgary is expected to receive up to 22cm of snow by Tomorrow afternoon. Boo.

I hate going from such extremely beautiful weather to bitterly cold, but that is life. Plus, we missed Calgary’s first snowfall of the season last week while we were here in sunny Florida. We can’t have it all, I suppose.

It has been a weird sensation to feel as if we have experiencd so many different weather changes in one day. In a way, I guess we have! Mother Nature can be so funny sometimes.
