NaBloPoMo 2013: Day 13 – Things people like that I don’t

What do I dislike?

I saw Erica make a list like this on her blog the other day and I thought it would be a cool idea to do so as well. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Everyone has likes and dislikes. It is so interesting that something someone LOVES is something another person loathes. How cool is the world, eh?!

I don’t mind airing my dirty laundry here so I am making my own list. I am sure there are many more things that I don’t like that I just can’t think of at the moment. Anyhow, here is a little list and explanation.

Law violators – This is part of the reason I wanted to become a police officer. I respect the law very much and I wanted to defend it. Unfortunately other circumstances got in the way of that career path. Oh well, I still make sure that I learn what is against the law so that I do not break it. I don’t understand why people in this world believe it’s okay to break the law. The law is there for many reasons, including the safety of us and people around us. I really dislike every single kind of law breaker from parking violators to murderers. Is it that hard to obey it? UGH! This world would be a vastly different place if people believed as I believe. Of course, then there wouldn’t be a need for law enforcement, but can you imagine a world like that!? Sounds like paradise to me.

Coffee – I know, I am that one person in this world who doesn’t like coffee. No, seriously, it’s nasty. It leaves such a disgusting after taste and it smells terrible on your breath. Also, it turns your teeth yellow. I hate the fact that so many people are so dependent on it in the morning. Although, I know it is mostly the caffeine aspect that people are addicted to. I work in a breakfast restaurant and a lot of the time people won’t even say hello. They growl out the word coffee like they are zombies longing for some human brains to munch on. Seriously, something is wrong if someone is so dependant on coffee in order to start their day properly. Of course not everyone is like this. For example, my Grandma loves the taste of coffee and drinks it every morning because she enjoys it. She is still just as pleasant if she doesn’t have it. It’s the people that “need” it that bug me. Okay, I may have gotten a little off topic of just not liking the drink. Oops.

Family Guy – I have no idea why people like this show. It is so ridiculous and at most times, offensive. I do not think it’s funny and it’s so crude that I shudder when I think about it being on the air for 11+ seasons.

Onions and Tomatoes – Okay this is a weird one. I do not like these items by themselves. I don’t like them on a burger or sandwich either. However, I will occasionally eat them mixed in with other things. For example, I love fresh pico-de-gallo which has both of these items in it. It must have something to do with the lime juice and cilantro that makes the flavour so great. I also LOVE ketchup!! It is practically another food group in my house and that wouldn’t be possible without tomatoes. With onions, I can smell them a mile away and that is part of the reason I hate them. If Peter had onions for lunch, ate two meals since then and then kissed me, I would be able to taste/smell the onions on his breath. Second hand onions are gross. Ew. They are so strong and very unappealing. Oh I don’t know. I am of two minds with these food items.

Beer – Ew. I do not like the taste of this stuff at all. I really hate the fizz in it too. I don’t drink very much alcohol as it is and so I can say no to this any day.

Scary anything – I don’t like scary movies (umm did you read this?!), haunted houses, ghost stories, the dark or anything else you can think of that could give me the creeps and then nightmares. No thanks.

Smoking – It is hazardous to your health so why continue to do it? So many studies have been done and it has been proven that it is deadly to you and others. I don’t care if it is addicting. Just STOP. It is horrible to walk through a cloud of smoke that has been in someone else’s mouth. The smell stays on people’s clothes and follows them around everywhere. I hate stepping into an elevator that a smoker has just vacated. It reeks.

Reality TV – I am much more a fan of fictional shows that create an imaginary story. I watch TV and movies to escape from the world so why would I want to watch real life stuff? I used to watch Survivor, but it became the same old crap and I just didn’t care anymore. People are so horrible to each other too. I don’t even like to watch the News. I love living in my tiny little bubble here and I’m okay with it!

Other food items – These are in no particular order: Liquorice, Cantaloupe, honey dew, liver, blueberries, ANY cooked fruit and also fruit together with anything (including salads and baking), runny eggs, any kind of squash, beef/steak (unless smothered with horseradish, which means I really only like the horseradish), orange/lemon flavoured things, raisins, pre-made sandwiches (can you say soggy?!), honey garlic, sweet potatoes, root beer, blue cheese (it is mould you know), oh I could just go on and on here. Suffice it to say that I am a picky eater!!

Oh man I keep thinking of more and more things to add here. However, I would like to keep some people reading my blog, so I better stop before I get myself into any more trouble!

    Interesting list.

I also don’t like Family Guy and Beer (or any alcohol for that matter), and the only reality tv shows I like are the ones of Investigation Discovery Channel such as “Nightmare Next Door”.

Mmmmm, coffee! Haha :D I always loved the smell, but only really started to enjoy drinking it a couple of years ago. I don’t really need it, I just enjoy it even though I dislike the yellow teeth and bad breath. But a breath that smells of onion or beer is way worse. Or BOTH onion and beer! Eww! *shudder*

Hah you’re not alone. Joshua doesn’t like beer at all. I’m with you on the smoking and tomatoes though!

I don’t like coffee either… or beer. Well, I don’t know if I ever tried beer, but I can’t drink anything carbonated and it doesn’t smell particularly good.

I hated coffee until I moved to San Francisco, which has some of the best coffee ever. If you ever visit, you must try some local brands!
