No Christmas here

I can’t believe that it is actually December 17th and I haven’t even watched one single Christmas movie. Usually, I spend all of December getting into the Christmas spirit by watching some of my favourite holiday movies. This year has been completely opposite of past years. I haven’t even listened to very many Christmas songs. What the heck is wrong with me?!

After thinking on it a bit, I have come up with an explanation. I think it is partly because we aren’t doing our normal Christmas celebrations this year. As we spent a whole week with Peter’s family in Florida in October, that was considered our Christmas celebration for 2013. After all, the whole trip was a gift from his parents. It was better than anything I had expected, and to spend an entire week together was amazing. I am very fortunate that I get along with my parents, brothers and sisters in-law. However, I did order a canvas print as a gift for my in-laws because I wanted to give them a memory of our trip. I ordered it from a local business because I always think it’s better to support local whenever possible. I ordered the print at the beginning of November, but unfortunately, it is not even ready yet. I am very disappointed. I emailed them again today to check on the status of my order. Hopefully it will be ready this week. Ugh.

Another possible reason as to why I am not into the Christmas mood yet is because we have cousins in town and so much time is spent together. We are doing things we don’t normally do at this time of year. It’s keeping us all very busy. So many family dinners! Haha, I’m not complaining though, as I love my cousins and I’m having a great time. Plus, I get to drink wine with my favourite cousin šŸ˜€ All we do is talk and drink and talk and drink. It’s pretty awesome.

Oy, I will hopefully finish the rest of my Christmas shopping this week. I don’t have too much left to buy, but I really have abandoned it until the last minute. I hate doing that.

Anyway, here are some of my favourite Christmas movies that I try to watch every year! I will probably not have time to watch all of them this year, but I might pick a few.

The Polar Express The Santa Clause The Santa Clause 2 The Santa Clause 3 How The Grinch Stole Christmas Jack Frost Home Alone Home Alone 2 The Nightmare Before Christmas Shrek The Halls
