The goings on

Nothing too exciting has been happening in life lately except I’ve been so busy to even think. I had the opening shifts at work for a couple weeks so that meant really early mornings, therefore early nights. Peter was working like a dog as well, so we barely saw each other for 2 weeks. It was crazy that we lived in the same house, but never saw each other. It seems that both of our schedules have slowed down a bit now, so we are actually spending a bit of time together.

We’ve been busy getting our current house ready to move and have new tenants arrive. There seems to be so many things that need to be done before we leave this place. I’ve been painting our fence, we bought a dishwasher, we need to buy a new sink/faucet for the kitchen, the bathroom tub needs to be caulked and so much more. I definitely think Peter should ask his Dad to come over to help out a bit because they make a great team together.

In any free time that I’ve had, I’ve been watching my latest obsession, Smallville. I seriously believe I have an addictive personality. I binge watch and get so attached to characters in the shows. If I would slow down a bit, I could savour the goodness. But I just want more more more. It’s nuts. Anyway, I am mid-season 4 of Smallville right now and I am loving it. I love superheroes and this show is not disappointing so far. I love that the story is told from before Clark Kent was Superman. It shows how he comes to learn about all his powers and abilities. Yes, it has some factual errors that make it different from the comics and movies, but I am enjoying it none the less. Also, I had never noticed before, but Tom Welling is one good looking man. Whew, it’s worth it to watch just to see his boyish grin. Haha, I need help, or at least some lessening in my fangirl tendencies.

I’ve also been busy this week helping a friend design a website. I took a design that was not user friendly at all and made it into a responsive design that works on many different devices. It was weird going from someone else’s coding style to my own, but it was also a fun challenge. It reminded me how much I love coding. I love the debugging after everything is set up as well. It’s fun to see all the little details come together.

I have my 18 week ultrasound this week and it is the BIG one where we can find out the sex of our little one. Peter is unable to attend the appointment, so I am bringing my Grandma with me instead. I don’t want to find out the sex without Peter, so I am going to ask the ultrasound technician to put the mystery into an envelope and Peter and I can look at it together at a later time. I don’t know how long we will wait to open the envelope, but it will all depend on how we feel. I was dead set on not finding out the sex before birth, but now I am leaning towards wanting to know. Peter doesn’t have a preference, so I guess it’s up to me to decide when to find out! Ah.
