House and pregnancy updates

Ah life has been so insanely busy this month. We have fully moved into our new home and have nearly all the boxes unpacked. I want to tidy up a bit more before I take pictures to show off the house. It is almost ready for showcasing! We are enjoying it very much to say the least. Our old home is also rented out so that is one less thing to worry about.

As for myself, when I am not at home unpacking boxes, I am working like a dog at work. Our manager went away for two weeks, so as a supervisor, I had to pick up some of the banking duties. It made for some long days. Now I am working opening shifts while some of my co-workers are away. That means bed by 9pm and up at 4:30am. This should continue on and off as people vacation until mid-October. I don’t really know if I will have a regular schedule again before I take off for maternity leave. I am hoping to work at least until the beginning of November.

As for some pregnancy updates, I feel as if a lot has happened since the 20 week update. I finally felt the baby move for the first time at 22 weeks, on my birthday actually (July 10th). It started out as little flutters, but I am starting to feel the movements a little stronger now. When it has hiccups, my belly actually moves, especially while lying down. It’s pretty cool to see. Unfortunately Peter hasn’t been able to feel any movement yet. I really hope he can soon because I desperately want to share this experience with him.

I will see my midwife tomorrow for my 28 week check up. I had my gestational diabetes test a couple weeks ago, but I haven’t heard anything about it yet. I figure if it was bad, they would have contacted me right away. I’m sure I will find out 100% tomorrow.

We are sort of trying to get all the necessities that will be required by the time the baby arrives. It’s such a huge ordeal. I want to buy all the things, but I know I won’t need all of it. It’s hard to know which brand to buy or how much money to spend. So many options out there. I went with a friend to Babies R Us to sign up for a baby registry. She has a son and so she helped me pick out some good products. I know I might have to buy some of them before the baby is born, but other things can wait for my baby showers, which will take place after the baby is here.

I am officially in my 3rd trimester. Boy how time is flying by. I’m not complaining, however because I really can’t wait to meet this little one. However, to my dismay, I have suffered from a little bit of heartburn lately, which is a common symptom in the last trimester. I really hope it subsides because it is not a pleasant feeling. Oh well, I will take the burn over vomiting any day. I took a bump photo the other day and I thought I would share:

Hopefully a long picture enhanced house post will come soon!

Congratulations on finally being nearly unpacked! That’s always one of the worst parts. Sometimes I just want to leave most of the stuff packed up because my house looks clean and uncluttered, then I miss my stuff.

I took a look at your registry and have to say there’s a few on there that I know were lifesavers when we had Vincent. Like the soothie pacifiers (I thought they were dorky looking at first, but they really were the best for him) and the Cradle N’ Swing. Halo Sleep Sacks as well.

I saw you had some baby monitors listed too. We have the Angelcare Movement & Sound Monitor and it helped ease our minds. Though the time has come that we’re looking into getting one with video too.

I’m trying to put together a second baby registry and spazzing out. It’s not easy. It’s like “What do babies need again?”.

I would figure the same on the glucose test. If they haven’t contacted you then you must be fine. I have mine in a couple weeks.

Congratulations on hitting the 3rd trimester!

Congrats on being all moved in and unpacked, I am glad to hear your old home is rented as well.

I don’t have kids so I can not really relate with the pregnancy but it sounds like everything is going great and you look so happy! Enjoy :)

Congrats on moving in and being almost unpacked! That’s also great that your other house is rented out already :)

Wow, 4:30am is so early. I hope you’ll be able to have a regular schedule sooner. All of that sounds really tiring!

That’s exciting that you’re in your 3rd trimester now! You’re looking great :) That’s good that your friend helped out with your baby registry. If I have kids, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t know how to fill up my baby registry. I even have a hard time picking out gifts for friends who are about to have a baby. (Fortunately, most people have a registry!)

I look forward to pictures of your new house!
