This month marks your half year birthday! That’s right, you’re 6 months old already. I can’t hardly believe how the time is flying. You are a joy to watch and grow. You are exploring, learning and taking in everything from the world around you.
You are very oral orientated and every single thing within reach goes into your mouth. It doesn’t matter what it is. Well I guess food is an exception because you’re still tentative about that. We started you off with a few solids this month. You aren’t too keen on them yet, but you’re learning the textures in your mouth before you spit them out. Lol. You’ve had rice cereal, butternut squash, sweet potato and apple sauce so far. I am sure we will explore a little bit more in the upcoming months. I sure hope you learn to love food!!
The biggest thing that happened this month was that we hired a sleep expert. Mamma was tired of being up every 2 hours with you. Almost a month later, you are only waking up 2-3 times a night, which is a huge improvement. It’s not perfect, but at least you are learning to soothe yourself and go back to sleep on your own….sometimes. I hope your sleep continues to improve and someday you might actually sleep through the whole night. You have 2-3 naps per day depending on what we are doing. Most of them happen in your crib, but some are in the car seat when we are out and about.
You are rolling from front to back like a pro, but you still haven’t figured out how to get past your arm when going from back to front. You keep trying but no success yet. You also started doing little sit ups by raising you head up off the floor and trying to look at your feet. You might start sitting up soon!
You love giggling at your big sister. She amuses you so much. I just can’t wait until you can run after her! You also love jumping in your jolly jumper. It your favourite toy for sure!
You weighed in at 12lbs 9oz for your 6 month birthday. Still small but growing too. I am sure you’ll keep us wondering what weight you’ll be next, just like your sister did.
It was a pleasure to celebrate my first Mother’s Day with you. We went to a family brunch, which you slept through the entire time. It’s a shame because everyone wanted to meet you. We only see them once a year but you had no interest. Hahaha. I can’t wait for all of the future Mother’s days we have together.
Oh little girl, I just love being your Mom. It’s seriously the best job in the world. Please keep amazing me every day.
