So when I️ was on maternity leave with Ezri, I️ waited until my full year of pay was over before I️ even thought about going back to work. This time around, even though my maternity pay is not over until the end of November, I️ have felt comfortable to go back for one shift a week. So far, I’ve worked 2 shifts and they’ve been pretty good. I️ definitely missed making money and interacting with the public. In regards to making money while getting maternity pay, the government will deduct 50% of what I️ make from their pay. That’s not too bad in my opinion.
The first shift I️ worked, Jadzia was pretty upset for most of the day. She only napped 2 very short naps for her Daddy and cried a whole lot. The second shift I️ had, she did much better. She actually drank more bottle and she napped longer. She was generally more happy too. I️ am sure she will get used to me being gone soon enough. I️ can imagine it’s hard because she’s always been with me 24/7 for the past 11 months. Heck, it’s hard for me, but it’s a part of life. She is so lucky that she gets to spend time with her Daddy and sister.
I’ve been at my job so long that it was pretty easy to get back into the swing of things. Not much had changed over the past year and so I️ just snuck back in and did my thing. I️ work again this upcoming Sunday and I’m looking forward to chatting with adults for a full 6 hours!! Hahaha. 😉 I️’m not going to lie, I️ brought pictures of my babies to show off to regular customers who asked about the girls. I’m such a proud mama.
