Christmas Time

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, eh?! I just can’t believe how close Christmas is already. Less than a week. All gifts are bought and Peter will be wrapping them tomorrow. I wrapped Peter’s today and that is all I have to do, thank goodness.

I went for my 2nd winter run today. It was chilly, but I was bundled up pretty nice. I had on 2 pairs of long underwear, sweats, 2 running shirts, a running jacket and another jacket that I put on over top. I ending up taking off the second jacket because I was too hot. I wore a toque, scarf and mittens. The scarf kept me too hot, but when I took it off, it was too cold…so I just dealt with the sweat. Oh well. It was nice to be able to run out in the cold winter air. It’s completely different than running in the summer. I downloaded an iphone app called imapmyrun and it maps my route, tells me my time, my average running speed and my calories. It’s pretty neat. I would like to get a heart monitor one day too.

My mom, a co-worker and I were finally able to take a road trip to Great Falls, Montana this week. The roads were dry and the drive was safe. We spent way too much money (of course) and had a blast. I bought quite a few new clothes as my closet is pretty bare because I donated all my “fat clothes.” We also bought a whole bunch of low-fat food that isn’t available in Canada. I got a few last minute Christmas presents too. I didn’t buy anything that I put on my Christmas list, but I did buy a lot of things for myself. And I must admit that I feel guilty since it’s so close to Christmas. Anyway….the trip was nice. The highlight of the trip was our delicious meal at On The Border. It has to be the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been too. I just wish they would open one up here in Canada. šŸ™

I weighed in last week at WW and was only 0.8lbs away from my goal weight!!!!! I was so excited. I am probably a little further away from my goal now as I went away to Great Falls and was off program for a few days. But that’s okay, I’m back on the wagon and I will get to my goal weight eventually šŸ˜€ It has been a tough and amazing year and I am so happy with my choice to be a healthier person. What an incredible journey.

I can’t believe how close Christmas is either, it’s crazy how fast this year has flew by.

imapmyrun sounds pretty neat. I love the way the air feels during the winter and you’re right it’s so much different than the summer air. Something about winter and the way the air feels makes me really happy and my overall mood is always better than during the summer.

Your vacation sounds fun, nothing wrong with purchasing you a few things even though it’s close to Christmas. On The Border is sooo good! Probably my favorite Mexican restaurant. We have one here in Arkansas, I love it. When I was staying in Vancouver, I noticed there that there wasn’t many Mexican restaurants at all, it was mainly Asian restaurants.

Congratulations on reaching your goal or almost reaching it… regardless that is such an achievement. I joined WW, but I haven’t been sticking to it lately, but I’m going to start tomorrow where I buckle down and stick to it. It’s hard starting right around the holidays, but I try to tell myself that food will always be there.

Add me to the list of people who cannot believe Christmas is just a few days away. I’m glad you had a good vacation and congrats on less then a pound away from your goal weight!
