There and back again

This world is a crazy place. In a matter of 4 hours, I left this:

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

and came home to this:

Snowy Calgary

I am very sad to be back in our snowy, cold Canadian city. I love living here in such a beautiful country, but to be frank, our weather really sucks. That is the thing I will miss most about being in Mexico. As I was sitting in the sun during our last few hours in Mexico, I just kept telling myself this: Only a couple more months and this lovely sunny weather will come to Calgary. It will happen, eventually. So it’s not like I’d never see the hot sunshine again. I just really despised this city as I was shoveling the snow today. *grumbles*

Our trip to Mexico was absolutely amazing  The resort was fantastic. The staff was amazing. I seriously felt like princess. They treated us so graciously. The resort was safe and very clean. There was staff everywhere cleaning or fixing something. It was immaculate.

We arrived at the resort on Sunday around 4pm and were starving as we hadn’t eaten since 7am. So we headed straight to the buffet. I can honestly admit that that was the only time I was hungry on the entire trip. But it did not stop me from eating. Buffet for breakfast, buffet for lunch and buffet for dinner. I may have still been full from my previous meal, but it sure didn’t stop me from eating again. The food was simply AMAZING. There were SO many different options. If I had actually tried one of every item, I would need 4 plates at every meal. They provided so many choices. There was every kind of fruit available and any topping ever desired for a salad. My favourite thing of the whole trip was the coconut ice cream. They even had shredded coconut to put on top. YUMMY!! :yum: I also really fell in love with mussels. However, they have to be heated as opposed to cold. In fact, I bought mussels today and that is what we are having for dinner tomorrow.

I took about 350 pictures. I have to go through them yet and hopefully post them onto flickr. It may not happen any time soon as I have to re-size them and then upload them. Once/If I do it, I will make sure to post the link here. For now, I will leave you with a pretty couples shot:

Now I might just have to try all-inclusive once as well. You look so happy! πŸ˜€ I see you’re just as lucky as us Norwegians with the weather? I’m so ready for spring and summer now, I’m tired of snow and cold and dark and brrrrr πŸ˜›

Looks like you guys had a blast in Mexico. I have no idea why I thought it was Disney. I’m an idiot!

What a beautiful picture of you and your husband. It sounds like you both had an amazing time in Mexico. I’m sorry you had to come home and shovel snow. (This seems like the appropriate time that for some reason I thought you lived in Ontario.)

I love mussels! They are really delicious, and one of my favorite foods. I like them if they are cooked in lemon pepper. You should try it sometime!
