So I bought a new car in October and I have been driving it around trying to decide if I made a good choice in buying it. I can officially say that I am a happy buyer. I am really enjoying my Matrix.
Although we have had a very mild winter here in Calgary, I have felt very comfortable and safe while driving in our winter, snowy conditions. At least, 100x more comfortable than driving my rear-wheeled drive mustang convertible. I love that I have the control of an all-wheel drive vehicle. Although it doesn’t help on the ice, it gives me so much more control in the snow. Winter tires are also an HUGE improvement from my all season tires. I will now always own a set of winter tires!!
Come summer, I am sure I will have some pangs of sadness that I am no longer driving my convertible. I have not sold my mustang yet and so it hasn’t gone out of my life entirely. I think I will be putting it up for sale in the spring because people will be wanting to drive convertibles for the summer. There was really no point in trying to sell it before winter. Sure, it makes the car 1 year older, but I don’t think I will have trouble selling it at all.
The only bad thing I have noticed about my new car is that the built in GPS navigation system really sucks. It only finds 1 out of 5 addresses that I input. It’s actually getting kind of frustrating. I think that I can load some CDs with updated maps. But honestly, I have no idea where to get the CDs. Should I go to the dealership or should I look online? Who knows.
Another weird quirk I have found is that when I have the air/heat blowing at my feet only, it tends to blow at the windshield too. Kind of bugs me because there is a dial for feet/windshield and so if I wanted it to blow on both, I’d pick that dial. I just want it on my feet! Ah. Oh well, not a big deal.
All in all, I love my new car and I am glad I decided to make the purchase.
