Sliding In

SlidersIt seems like those little sliders are making a move to be the star of the BBQ grill, at least this summer they are trying. In case you don’t know what a slider is, it’s basically a mini sandwich, usually a burger. My family decided to give them a try tonight. We had 4 different types of hot dog sausage and 2 different kinds of burgers. The sausages were Spicy, Mild Italian, Sweet and Pork. The burgers were Beef and Chicken. I have to say that I enjoyed them all. My favourite was the Pork sausage. It was so juicy and delicious. The Mild Italian had a stronger flavour, which was tasty as well. My mom even bought slider hamburger and hot dog buns. They were so tiny and cute.

The only downside to the burgers being so small were that they were HUGE with all the toppings. By the time I got all of my toppings on (which included cheese, bacon, dill relish, ketchup, mushrooms, pickles and avocado) the slider was almost a foot high 😮 LOL After a little squishing, I was able to get my mouth around the delicious burger. They were a cute thing to try, but honestly, I don’t think I would buy them again. I like to make my own burger patties and no matter what you do, sausages are fatty and bad for you. OH well. With a caesar salad added on for good measure, fun times were had by all. Plus we had a fruit salad for dessert and that made us feel slightly healthier. Haha.

In other boring news, I saw something interesting at the grocery store today. I usually go to the self checkouts to buy my groceries because it’s faster. I have never noticed that on the platform you place your groceries (both before and after you scan them) there is advertising. I saw the advertising people changing up the ads today and that is the only reason I finally noticed the ads. It’s crazy the places there can be advertising these days. They stick them on every little thing and every little place. But really, who notices these things?! I might now take a second glance because I saw them getting changed and so now I know they exist. I just found it really interesting. Please don’t ask me why this amused me so much because I have no explanation. :geek:

Ads really are *everywhere*. I don’t even think they want to get our attention directly anymore; the best they can hope for is subconscious absorption! Those sliders look delish, and are definitely making me hungry… the BBQ sounds like it was fun!

I agree – ads are just everywhere anymore! I’ve even seen them in the bathrooms at the local park! I mean, really? In the BATHROOM?
