They have it in for us

I know that I have posted about this in the past. But I think it needs to be stated again.

I have an obsession with Mcdonalds.

I LOVE it. It is my favourite fast food place to eat. I could probably have it most nights of the week and not get sick of it. My favourite thing to get is a cheeseburger (with extra pickles) and fries. I love how tiny the onions are on the burger and the mixture of the onions with with pickles and ketchup create heaven in my mouth.

However, as I am actively trying to lose weight and stay healthy, it is probably not a good idea to be having Mcdonalds too often. I know how bad everything is for me. I know all the nutritional stats. I just can’t help the totally intense cravings I get for it. So I give in every so often.

Unfortunately, Canadian Mcdonalds are currently having their annual Mcdonalds Monopoly game. Therefore Peter and I are going way more often then we should. But wait, it gets worse. In order to get the game pieces, we have to supersize to a large fries. And where I would normally order a 6-piece chicken nuggets, the game pieces only come on the 10 or 20 piece ones. PLUS, I can’t go to Mcdonalds without getting my cheeseburger, so I have to order one of those too. We look like such pigs leaving that place with our bag of food. In all honesty, we really don’t end up eating everything, but my question is WHY can’t the game pieces be on the medium fries and smaller portion foods?! That is why I think Mcdonalds has it in for us. They want to make us fat.

Now I am not really blaming Mcdonalds. It is all my choice and I am making the wrong ones. I just wish I had a little bit of self control when it comes to that stupid restaurant. Ugh. It’s not even real meat. Why in the world do I have such an obsession with it?!

While catching up on my feed reader this morning, I read your post but also came across this one: How to play Monopoly without getting fat. Basically, you can still get the Monopoly pieces without having to purchase McDonald’s! Who knew?

I know the feeling. I love the Monopoly game. We here in the states have it now to. We have been lucky because the McD’s near us actually is closed because they tore down the building and are rebuilding and this is the only McD’s near me. So no Monopoly for me this year. Boo!

I know everything in moderation and treating yourself once in a while is a good thing, but you might be better off giving up fast food all together. I can’t even remember what a McDonalds burger tastes like really, though I never loved it.
Cinnabons, those I loved. I haven’t had one since the day after my wedding though. It’s better that way. I do eat cinnabon ice cream though 😛 that stuff’s delicious and I can have just a little bit as opposed to a whole 1000 calorie bun.

I don’t really like McDonald’s too much but when I go there I always order a single cheeseburger without the pickles. 🙂 We never go often enough to worry about game pieces or anything so the Monopoly thing is never a gimmick that sucks us in.
